Paphos is a small seaside town located in the south-west of Cyprus. The ancient capital of Cyprus from the times of the Roman conquests, Paphos is the cultural and historical center of the whole island.
This is a nice, quiet resort center with beautiful bays, equipped beaches and a rich choice of hotels. There is a humid microclimate characterized by increased cloudiness.Paphos is located at the entrance to the unique nature reserve Akamas (Akamas) - here is a wonderful corner of untouched nature, wild beaches where turtles derive their offspring.
In Akamas one of the best hiking trails with fantastic sea views opening from high cliffs. Next to Paphos is the second largest Cypriot international airport.Paphos beaches are mostly stony, but here and there are sandy beaches. One of the best beaches is in Coral Bay. All the beaches of the resort are marked by the blue flags of the European Union for excellent ecology.The diving center is located near the fishing harbor. Tourists can go horseback riding, tennis, snorkeling and other sports. On the waterfront there are many discos, bars, restaurants, often open all night.The most picturesque place in Paphos is the pedestrian zone along the embankment in the harbor of the city. Here you can walk, watching the life of the port, looking at the ruins of the ancient mole and the medieval fortress. Nearby is an archaeological park with many interesting monuments of various periods of history.
