The coastal city of Kyrenia, or Girne, as it is also called the Turks, is one of the most picturesque places in Cyprus. Kyrenia is a port city and one of the most popular resorts in North Cyprus.
It is located at the foot of the mountains on the Mediterranean coast, there is a very quiet atmosphere of a small seaside town, even high-rise buildings are not allowed to build here, as by law it is forbidden to build houses above 5 floors. Breathtaking views - a trump card of this city, because of it amazing location: as if emerging from the sea, a couple of kilometers to the south of Kyrenia rests on a stretched mountain chain that literally obscures it from the rest of the island.
Kyrenia is not for fans of the noisy and transient life of megacities. Time seemed to stop here. The main attraction of Kyrenia, its heart, is the city harbor, which seemed to have been specially created for romantic walks. A special charm to this place is attached to the houses along the coast, built in the time of the Venetians and Ottomans.
